Uzbekistan’s Interior Ministry and UNICEF Discuss Joint Crime Prevention Projects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting on cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Uzbekistan and UNICEF was held yesterday at the Ministry’s central office. Participants included Lieutenant Colonel Nilufar Giyasova, Deputy Head of the Crime Prevention Service of the Public Safety Department, responsible service staff, representatives of the MIA’s International Cooperation Department, as well as UNICEF Uzbekistan representatives Antonia Lyudeke and Saffinas Akhaeva.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on planned activities for 2025–2026.

The plan provides for conducting workshops and training sessions by the end of 2026 aimed at increasing legal awareness among women, minors, and youth, as well as enhancing professional knowledge and skills of women’s affairs inspectors, preventive inspectors, and field psychologists.

A concrete action plan was agreed upon to implement the outlined tasks.
