Uzbekistan’s Foreign Trade Turnover Reaches US$72.8 Billion

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In January–November 2025, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover (FTT) amounted to US$72.8 billion, marking an increase of US$13.01 billion, or 21.8%, compared to the same period in 2024, according to the National Statistics Committee.

Of the total FTT, exports reached US$30.89 billion, up 26.2% year-on-year, while imports amounted to US$41.88 billion, up 18.7%, resulting in a trade deficit of US$10.99 billion.

Uzbekistan maintains trade relations with 210 countries. The largest shares of foreign trade turnover were recorded with China (20.1%), Russia (16.2%), Kazakhstan (6.0%), Turkey (3.7%), and South Korea (2.2%).

In the export structure, goods accounted for 72.6%, including industrial products at 11.3%, food and live animals at 8.7%, chemicals and related products at 6.0%, and various manufactured goods at 5.0%.

Uzbekistan’s main export partners for goods and services in January–November 2025 included Russia (13.0%), China (6.0%), Afghanistan (4.3%), Kazakhstan (4.3%), Turkey (3.3%), France (2.5%), the UAE (2.1%), Kyrgyzstan (1.8%), Tajikistan (1.7%), and Pakistan (1.0%), accounting for 40.0% of total exports.

During this period, 2,022.2 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables were exported, up 6.3% (119.5 thousand tons) compared to the same period in 2024. The export value of fruits and vegetables reached US$1.9428 billion, a 36.8% increase year-on-year, representing 6.3% of total exports.

Textile exports totaled US$2.2661 billion, accounting for 7.3% of total exports, and decreased by 14.6% compared to January–November 2024. Within textile exports, finished textile products made up 51.6% and yarn 28.4%.

The export of services reached US$8.4783 billion, or 27.4% of total trade exports, up 28.9% year-on-year. Services exports were dominated by travel (tourism) at 53.3%, transport services at 31.1%, telecommunications, computer, and information services at 7.9%, and other business services at 3.1%.

Imports amounted to US$41.8854 billion, an 18.7% increase over the same period in 2024. Major import categories included machinery and transport equipment (33.6%), industrial goods (15.7%), and chemicals and related products (12.2%).

Goods imports reached US$37.4197 billion, up US$5.5548 billion compared to January–November 2024, while services imports totaled US$4.4657 billion.

Overall, Uzbekistan imported goods and services from 180 countries. Over 60% of total imports came from major partners, including China (30.5%), Russia (18.5%), Kazakhstan (7.2%), Turkey (3.9%), South Korea (3.6%), Germany (2.5%), and India (2.5%).

Services imports amounted to US$4.4657 billion, or 10.7% of total imports, a 31.0% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Travel (tourism) accounted for 52.1% of services imports, transport services 19.5%, telecommunications, computer, and information services 10.6%, other business services 6.5%, and other services 11.3%.
