Uzbekistan’s Foreign Trade Turnover Reaches US$66.5 Billion

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In January–October 2025, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover (FTT) amounted to US$66.5 billion, an increase of US$11.75 billion, or 21.5 percent, compared to the same period in 2024, according to the National Committee of Uzbekistan.

Of the total FTT, exports reached US$29 billion (a 27.8 percent increase compared to January–October 2024), while imports amounted to US$37.53 billion (a 16.9 percent increase). As a result, the country recorded a trade deficit of US$8,52 billion.

Uzbekistan maintains trade relations with 210 countries around the world. The highest shares of foreign trade turnover were registered with China (19.7%), Russia (15.9%), Kazakhstan (5.9%), Türkiye (3.7%) and the Republic of Korea (2.2%).

In the export structure, goods accounted for 73.3 percent, including industrial goods at 10.9 percent, food products and live animals at 8.2 percent, chemicals and similar products at 6.0 percent, and various finished goods at 4.9 percent.

The main export partners for goods and services in January–October 2025 were Russia (12.6%), China (5.6%), Kazakhstan (4.1%), Afghanistan (4.1%), Türkiye (3.2%), France (2.7%), the UAE (2.1%), the Kyrgyz Republic (1.7%), Tajikistan (1.6%) and Pakistan (1.1%). Their combined share in total exports reached 38.8 percent.

During January–October 2025, Uzbekistan exported 1,821.8 thousand tons of fruit and vegetable products, an increase of 7.3 percent, or 124.0 thousand tons, compared to the same period in 2024.

The export value of fruit and vegetable products reached US$1.72 billion during the period, reflecting a 39.7 percent increase. Their share in total exports amounted to 5.9 percent.

Textile exports for January–October 2025 totaled US$2.05 billion, accounting for 7.1 percent of total exports. This represents a 15.5 percent decline compared to the same period in 2024.

Exports of services for the ten-month period reached US$7.75 billion, representing 26.7 percent of total export volume and an increase of 32.8 percent compared to January–October 2024. The main components of service exports were travel (tourism) at 53.1 percent, transport services at 30.9 percent, telecommunications, computer and information services at 8.1 percent, and other business services at 3.2 percent.

Imports for January–October 2025 totaled US$37.53 billion, reflecting a 16.9 percent increase compared to the same period of 2024. The largest shares in the import structure were machines and transport equipment (34.0%), industrial goods (15.8%), and chemicals and similar products (12.3%).

An analysis of import dynamics shows that in January–October 2025, compared to the same period of 2024, goods imports grew by US$4,448.9 million to US$33.46 billion, while imports of services reached US$4.06 billion.

Overall, Uzbekistan imported goods and services from 177 countries during January–October 2025. More than two-thirds of total imports came from major partners such as China (30.6%), Russia (18.5%), Kazakhstan (7.3%), Türkiye (4.0%), the Republic of Korea (3.7%), Germany (2.5%) and India (2.5%).

Imports of services amounted to US$4.06 billion, or 10.8 percent of total imports, marking a 32.2 percent increase compared to January–October 2024. The main components were travel (tourism) at 51.3 percent, transport services at 20.1 percent, telecommunications, computer and information services at 10.9 percent, other business services at 6.6 percent, and other services at 11.1 percent.
