The volume of exports of Uzbekistan made up US$3.471 billion (+28.5%) and the volume of imports reached US$2.247 billion (38.7%) in the first three months of 2011.
Unbalance in foreign trade was 154.5% versus 166.7% in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Exports of Uzbekistan to the CIS countries grew by 67.1% year-on-year in the reporting period to US$1.283 billion. The exports with other countries rose by 13.2% to US$2.188 billion.
The volume of imports of Uzbekistan with the CIS countries made up US$944.4 million in the first quarter of 2011, which grew by 49.6% year-on-year. Imports of Uzbekistan with other countries surged by 31.7% to US$1.303 billion in January-March 2011.
Foreign trade surplus made up US$1.224 billion in the reporting period, including US$338.8 million with the CIS countries and US$885.2 million with other foreign countries.
In the reporting period, share of the CIS countries in Uzbekistan’s trade turnover made up 39% (32.4% in 1Q 2010) and other states – 61% (67.6%).
Share of other countries in exports of Uzbekistan fell from 71.6% in January-March 2010 to 63% in the same period of 2011, and the share of the CIS countries grew from 28.4% to 37%.
Share of the CIS countries in imports of Uzbekistan grew from 39% to 42% and other countries dropped from 61% to 58%.
