Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry Denies Reports of Citizen’s Death in South Korea

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Reports in some media outlets claiming that a citizen of Uzbekistan died in a fire in South Korea are inaccurate.

According to the Consular and Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, no Uzbek citizens were among the victims, the agency “Dunyo” reported.

Uzbekistan’s diplomatic mission in Seoul remains in continuous contact with South Korean authorities to clarify all circumstances of the incident.

Embassy staff visited the scene and confirmed that the deceased was a 60-year-old citizen of Kazakhstan.

Thus, there are no official reports of Uzbek citizens being injured or killed in this incident.
