Uzbekistan’s Energy System Switched to Autumn–Winter Operational Mode
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s energy system has been switched to autumn–winter operational mode, the Ministry of Energy reported.
Emergency response teams have been deployed across the country to quickly react to potential incidents. Over the past year, more than 7,000 kilometers of power lines and over 1,700 transformer stations have been upgraded. In addition, 538 kilometers of main and distribution gas pipelines, as well as 951 gas distribution points, have been reconstructed.
Electricity consumption this winter is projected at 290–300 million kilowatt-hours. To meet the increasing demand and expand generation capacity, new facilities are planned to come online by the end of 2025: solar and wind power plants with a total capacity exceeding 3,000 MW, thermal power plants totaling 1,167 MW, and energy storage systems of over 1,500 MW.
Since the beginning of the year, 464,000 tons of liquefied gas have been delivered to the population, with an additional 199,000 tons expected by year-end.
To ensure uninterrupted supply across the country, a reserve of more than 29,000 household gas cylinders has been created.
