Uzbekistan’s Emergency Ministry Urges Citizens to Follow Safety Rules Amid Cold Weather

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan has issued a reminder to citizens to observe safety precautions during the upcoming cold period.

The ministry recommends checking the condition and cleanliness of chimneys and ventilation grilles before using heating devices, as birds may have nested inside them or they may be clogged with debris.

Special attention should be paid to gas equipment: it is prohibited to use faulty appliances, to heat rooms with gas stoves, or to leave children unattended near operating gas devices.

If the smell of gas is detected, citizens are advised not to turn lights or electrical devices on or off, to ventilate the premises immediately, and to report the incident to the gas supply service.

It is also important not to leave electrical appliances unattended and to ensure that all devices are switched off before leaving the room.
