Uzbekistan’s Embassy Helps Children Return Home from Russia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Moscow, in cooperation with the Ministries of Internal Affairs, Health, and the National Agency for Social Protection, continues systematic efforts to identify minors who are left unsupervised or in difficult life situations in Russia, with the aim of returning them to their homeland, Dunyo news agency reported.
From 9 to 16 October 2025, the working group located and returned 16 children from Saint Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, and Moscow to Uzbekistan.
Specialists from the ministries and agencies ensured the verification of the children’s personal data, prepared all necessary documents for their return, conducted medical examinations, and handled related organizational matters.
After completing these procedures, all children were sent to Tashkent.
Additionally, the working group assisted in returning another 19 minors, left without parental care, from Yekaterinburg, Volgograd, Ufa, Nizhny Novgorod, Khakassia, the Moscow region, Makhachkala, and Novosibirsk. Relevant documents were also prepared for them, and on 1 November, in coordination with Russian authorities, these children were safely returned to Uzbekistan.
These measures, implemented by the Embassy together with partner organizations, achieve tangible results in protecting the rights and interests of the country’s citizens, particularly minors, ensuring their social protection and well-being.
