Uzbekistan’s Digital Technology Center Opens in Shanghai
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan Digital Technology Center has officially opened in Shanghai, China. The opening ceremony was attended by Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The establishment of the Center marks a significant milestone in implementing the strategic priorities outlined in the national programs Uzbekistan–2030 and Digital Uzbekistan–2030. Its activities aim to attract Chinese IT companies to Uzbekistan, secure international grants, and expand the export potential of the domestic IT sector.
During the event, participants were introduced to plans for promoting IT Park in the Chinese market, current tax incentives in Uzbekistan, programs for training qualified specialists, and a wide range of IT services. Attendees also received updates on the country’s ongoing digital transformation and key technology projects.
The Center was established in partnership with the Chinese company Shanghai Oriental Credits Industrial Development Co., Ltd. and is housed in a four-story building. Its core operations are based on the first floor, which includes two conference halls, a reception area, and a special exhibition space showcasing solutions by Uzbek IT companies.
Uzbek students studying in Shanghai will be actively involved in the Center’s operations. They will be responsible for developing informational and promotional materials to advance national IT projects, initiatives of relevant ministries, and digital solutions by Uzbek companies.
In addition, under the Ministry of Digital Technologies’ Digital World initiative, citizens participating in the Center’s activities on a voluntary basis will be awarded the honorary title of “IT Ambassador of Uzbekistan.”
