Uzbekistan’s Cabinet of Ministers Approves Procedure for Investigating Technological Disruptions in the Power Sector
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan has approved a procedure for the investigation and recording of technological disruptions in the electricity sector. Resolution No. 850 of 31 December 2025 regulates the processes for identifying, classifying, and documenting such incidents.
Under the document, mandatory investigative recording applies to damage to electrical installations identified during operation as well as in the course of scheduled repairs, preventive inspections, and testing. The procedure also covers cases involving the decommissioning of electrical installations or their individual components, as well as deviations of technical condition parameters beyond permissible limits. It further addresses situations involving partial or complete interruptions in electricity supply to consumers outside scheduled operating regimes.
Depending on the nature of the disruption and the severity of its consequences, incidents are classified as accidents or first- and second-degree failures. Investigations into technological disruptions must begin immediately upon detection and be completed within ten days.
Responsibility for recording all technological disruptions rests with the relevant power sector facilities, including enterprises engaged in the generation, storage, transmission, and distribution of electricity, as well as associated power grids.
