Uzbekistan’s Cabinet Approves Measures to Strengthen Science-Business Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 23 February, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan approved a comprehensive set of measures aimed at enhancing cooperation between the business sector and the country’s scientific community.

The initiative focuses on the practical implementation of scientific developments, innovative projects, and advanced technologies by entrepreneurs, as well as improving innovation management to create modern products and services.

The plan emphasizes expanding collaboration between research organizations and industrial enterprises to commercialize scientific developments. Active participation of businesses in innovation creation will be considered when forming the Entrepreneurial Resilience Rating.

By 1 July, a specialized electronic platform is planned to be launched to facilitate interaction between scientists and entrepreneurs. The platform will provide an open database of new developments, detailing inventions and their authors for potential investors.

It will also include an information space for finding research partners, leveraging artificial intelligence tools. Additionally, a registry of researchers and their areas of study will be created.

Entrepreneurs will be able to post information on priority problems requiring scientific solutions, while inventors can propose their developments. The platform will enable electronic contract signing and submission of applications for funding competitions aimed at commercializing developments.

By 1 August, the platform is expected to be integrated with the Entrepreneurial Resilience Rating system, allowing for more effective assessment of business contributions to the country’s innovation development.
