Uzbekistan’s Business Delegation Holds Talks with Iraqi Ministries on the Sidelines of the Baghdad International Fair

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The business delegation of Uzbekistan, which arrived in Baghdad to take part in the Baghdad International Fair, held a series of substantive and productive negotiations with representatives of ministries and government agencies of the Republic of Iraq, Dunyo news agency reported.

The delegation included representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Exporters’ Association, the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, the Agency for Quarantine and Plant Protection, the Jewelry Industry Association, Uzavtosanoat JSC, the UzcharmSanoat and UzeltechSanoat associations, as well as members of the media.

As part of the visit, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture Ibrokhimjon Abdurakhmanov held talks with the Chairman of Iraq’s Economic Council, Ibrahim al-Baghdadi. The discussions focused on promising areas of bilateral cooperation in agriculture and food production, as well as opportunities for implementing joint projects.

In addition, the Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Agency for Quarantine and Plant Protection, Ibrokhim Ergashov, held negotiations with the management of the Iraqi company Afak Al Hayat Co. for General Trade, Import and Export. The talks centered on the export of food products from Uzbekistan to Iraq and the establishment of joint warehouse facilities for the storage and distribution of goods.

Alongside official meetings, members of the Uzbek delegation familiarized themselves with the operations of Iraq’s food distribution logistics centers and wholesale markets, studying their infrastructure and operational mechanisms.

Uzbekistan’s pavilion at the exhibition, presented under the national brand Made in Uzbekistan, has been fully prepared for the opening of the international forum. As part of the preparations, it has already been visited by Iraq’s Minister of Trade, Athir al-Ghariri.
