Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Center for Economic Research and Reforms has released an updated analysis of Uzbekistan’s automotive market. In October, total vehicle sales across all categories reached 112,500 units, up 11% from September, with increased activity observed in all key regions of the country.
The passenger car segment recorded a monthly growth of 12.7%, reaching 95,400 units. The largest sales increases were observed in Namangan, Jizzakh, and Bukhara regions, exceeding 20%, while Samarkand Region and the Republic of Karakalpakstan saw slight declines.
In the primary passenger car market, sales grew nearly 19%, adding 6,000 units. Domestic new car sales reached 33,400 units (+22%), while imported new vehicles rose 1.1% to 4,500 units.
The secondary market continues to expand, with 57,400 used passenger cars sold in October (+9%). Notably, the electric vehicle segment showed strong growth: more than 3,000 used electric cars were sold (+15.2% month-on-month), and year-on-year sales of second-hand EVs increased 2.3 times.
These trends indicate a recovery and steady growth of the country’s automotive market, driven by both domestic models and the expanding electric vehicle segment.
