Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Discusses Expansion of Academic and Research Cooperation with Majmaah University Rector
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Professor Saleh Al-Mezal, Rector of Majmaah University (MU), received Nodirjon Turgunov, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, accompanied by the Uzbek consul and in the presence of university officials.
During the visit, the parties discussed the development of international cooperation aimed at improving the quality of education, promoting scientific research, and creating opportunities for joint innovative programs and initiatives.
The embassy delegation met with Professor Mohammed Al-Shehri, Vice-Rector for Postgraduate and Research Affairs, to discuss the expansion of collaboration in academic and research areas. The visit included tours of key university facilities: the Center for Engineering and Applied Sciences Research, the Center for Health and Fundamental Sciences Research, and the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Professor Al-Shehri highlighted the importance of international engagement in education and science, noting that Uzbek students will have access to scholarship opportunities through the “Study in Saudi Arabia” program and Arabic language studies.
Dr. Bader Al-Harbi, Head of the Knowledge Exchange and Research Communities Department, emphasized that international partnerships facilitate knowledge sharing, experience transfer, and support sustainable development in line with higher education goals outlined in the “Saudi Vision 2030” framework.
He noted that such initiatives strengthen educational, scientific, and innovation disciplines, contributing to the advancement of science and technology at the international level.
