Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Presents Credentials to Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 30 September, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan Nodirjon Turgunov presented his credentials to the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Dunyо news agency reported.

Receiving the credentials of ambassadors from 37 foreign countries appointed in 2023–2024, the Crown Prince conveyed, on behalf of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, his sincere wishes and warm greetings to President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia were established on February 20, 1992. Nodirjon Turgunov arrived in Riyadh in March 2024 as Uzbekistan’s ambassador and was accredited in November 2024 as the country’s Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Earlier, in April 2025, he presented copies of his credentials to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain as Uzbekistan’s first ambassador to the country, and on 2 June, he presented credentials to King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein of Jordan.
