Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Discusses Medical and Educational Cooperation with Chughtai Lab Leadership
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, held a meeting with the founder and chairman of one of Pakistan’s largest medical and diagnostic networks, Chughtai Lab, Akhtar Chughtai, and its Managing Director, Omar Chughtai, the Dunyо news agency reports.
For over 40 years, Chughtai Lab has been a leading player in Pakistan’s diagnostic and medical services market. Since 2021, the company has transformed from a laboratory network into a multifunctional medical holding, which includes radiology departments, outpatient consultations, a pharmacy chain, vaccination centers, emergency and home care services. Educational and research programs are implemented at the Chughtai Pathology Institute and Medical College. Today, the company operates a national network of over 350 round-the-clock diagnostic centers across the country.
During the talks, the parties discussed potential cooperation in areas such as the implementation of modern medical technologies, professional development of specialists, joint scientific research, academic exchanges, and educational programs for faculty members. Particular attention was paid to the prospects of opening a branch or joint venture of Chughtai Lab in Uzbekistan.
Representatives of the company presented an overview of the laboratory’s activities, achievements, and plans for international expansion. Central Asia, including Uzbekistan, was highlighted as a priority region for further development.
Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev emphasized that the development of the healthcare system is a key area of Uzbekistan’s state policy. He detailed national programs being implemented, the introduction of innovative solutions, and measures to train highly qualified medical personnel.
Chughtai Lab’s leadership expressed readiness to establish direct contacts with relevant ministries and agencies in Uzbekistan, medical universities, and research institutes, as well as to work practically on cooperation initiatives.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to identify specific areas for collaboration in medical services, education, and innovation, and to begin preparing joint projects.
