Uzbekistan’s 2026 State Budget: Focus on Social and Educational Sectors

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan has published the draft law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2026,” outlining projected allocations from the republican budget to more than 60 main recipients.

According to the document, total funding from the state budget in 2026 will amount to 328 trillion 79 billion 730 million soums. The largest allocations are planned for the Ministry of Economy and Finance — 105.9 trillion soums, the Ministry of Preschool and General Education — 63.69 trillion soums, and the National Agency for Social Protection under the President — 22.42 trillion soums.

Significant funding is also planned for the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation (6.36 trillion soums), the Ministry of Health (6.8 trillion soums), the Ministry of Water Resources (10.36 trillion soums), and the Ministry of Transport (7.3 trillion soums).

Budget allocations are also planned for the Ministry of Culture (1.28 trillion soums), Ministry of Sports (1.22 trillion soums), Ministry of Construction (2.23 trillion soums), Ministry of Agriculture (2.27 trillion soums), Ministry of Energy (110 billion soums), and the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change (1.1 trillion soums).

State bodies and institutions will also receive funding: the Cabinet of Ministers — 2.59 trillion soums, the Presidential Administration — 3.05 trillion soums, the General Prosecutor’s Office — 3 trillion soums, the Supreme Court — 1.99 trillion soums, the Senate of the Oliy Majlis — 128.18 billion soums, and the Legislative Chamber — 229.3 billion soums.

For institutions ensuring legal, financial, and oversight functions, funds are allocated to the Anti-Corruption Agency (35.69 billion soums), the Accounts Chamber (136.99 billion soums), the Agency for Strategic Development and Reforms (27.12 billion soums), and other specialized agencies.

Particular attention is given to social and educational areas. The National Human Rights Center will receive 17.45 billion soums, the Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment — 78.25 billion soums, the “Soglom Avlod Uchun” Fund — 910 million soums, and the Center for Social Adaptation of Children — 11.69 billion soums.

To support youth and civil society institutions, funding is planned for the Agency for Youth Affairs (507.66 billion soums) and the Fund for Supporting Civil Society Institutions under the Oliy Majlis (1.441 trillion soums).

Sectoral agencies will also receive funds for the development of industry, energy, telecommunications, light industry, and safety regulation. In particular, the National Energy Efficiency Agency will receive 709.86 billion soums, the Telecommunications Regulatory Agency — 7.23 billion soums, the Agency for the Development of Light Industry — 47 billion soums, and the Inspectorate for the Control of Electricity, Oil Products, and Gas — 28.92 billion soums.

The draft also provides funding for other state and public organizations totaling 74.12 trillion soums.
