Uzbekistan Youth Hockey Championship Kicks Off in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 26 September, the first matches of the Uzbekistan Republic Youth Hockey Championship for the 14U age category took place at Humo Arena.

The tournament opener featured a match between Tashkent’s “Binokor” and Almaty’s “Rakhimjan.” The game was fiercely contested and ended in a 2:2 tie in regulation time. For the visiting team, goals were scored by Yanis Kosofidi and Dmitry Sukhov, while Tashkent’s Azamkhon Turakhanov and Matvey Ilyasov found the net. The match was decided in overtime, with Matvey Ilyasov scoring the winning goal and completing a brace, giving “Binokor” a 3:2 victory.

In the second match, “Alma-Ata” from Almaty faced Tashkent’s “Humo Sky.” Despite a final score of 7:1 in favor of the Almaty team, the game was dynamic and competitive. Humo Sky’s lone goal was scored by Egor Voronin.

Organizers emphasize that the championship aims not only to identify the strongest young hockey players but also to promote hockey culture across Uzbekistan.
