Uzbekistan wins silver, bronze at Asian Wrestling Championships
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Asian Wrestling Championships are drawing to a close in Kyrgyzstan, with Uzbekistan’s national team adding to its medal tally following the latest day of competition.
Umidjon Jalolov, competing in the 65 kg weight category, won a silver medal. Meanwhile, Sherzod Poyonov secured a bronze medal in the 92 kg division.
On the final day of the tournament, three more Uzbek wrestlers remained in contention for bronze medals. In the 61 kg category, Gulomjon Abdullaev faced Batnasang Gankhuleg of Mongolia. In the 74 kg division, Begijon Kuldoshev competed against Mustafa Akhmedov of Tajikistan.
In the 86 kg category, Bobur Islomov and Khidir Saipudinov contested bronze against Bolat Sakaev of Kazakhstan.
The performance of Uzbekistan’s wrestlers at the continental championship reflects a consistent level of preparation and competitiveness on the international stage.
