Uzbekistan Wins Four Medals at First Stage of ASEAN Track Series in Malaysia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The first stage of the ASEAN Track Series concluded in Nilai, Malaysia, with the Uzbekistan national cycling team achieving an impressive result, winning three gold and one bronze medal.

The standout performer was Sergey Rostovtsev, who claimed gold in three disciplines — omnium, scratch, and elimination — completing a hat-trick and demonstrating the high level of Uzbek cyclists on the international stage.

The bronze medal in the elimination race was secured by Nafosat Koziyeva, who delivered a consistent and competitive performance among the region’s top athletes.

The strong showing at the first stage of the ASEAN Track Series marks an important milestone in the national team’s preparation for upcoming international competitions and reinforces Uzbekistan’s growing reputation in track cycling disciplines.

The second stage of the competition will take place on 10–11 January, also in Nilai, where Uzbek athletes will continue to compete for medals.
