Uzbekistan Welcomes 7.5 Million Foreign Tourists in Eight Months

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the first eight months of 2025, Uzbekistan was visited by 7.5 million foreign nationals for tourism purposes, according to the National Committee of Statistics.

The flow of international visitors grew significantly, rising by nearly 2.5 million people, or 49.1 percent, compared to the same period last year.

Most tourists arrived from neighboring countries. Kyrgyzstan led the list with more than 2.16 million visitors, followed by Kazakhstan with 1.77 million and Tajikistan with almost 1.7 million. A notable influx also came from Russia with 663,300 visitors, Afghanistan with 304,500, and Turkmenistan with 243,500. Among more distant countries, the top ten sources included China (135,400), Türkiye (113,100), India (42,300), and South Korea (30,000). More than 349,000 people arrived from other states.

As for travel purposes, visiting relatives accounted for the majority with over 5.16 million trips. Tourism made up 1.15 million visits, business travel 837,500, commercial purposes 287,700, medical treatment 62,000, and education 14,200.
