Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, held talks with John An, Business Development Manager for the Asia-Pacific region at the US Export-Import Bank, and representatives from Valmont Industries. The discussions focused on deepening bilateral cooperation and implementing innovative projects in the agricultural sector.

The parties explored opportunities for large-scale deployment of modern irrigation systems, major infrastructure initiatives, and expanded financial collaboration.

Valmont Industries, with over 80 years of experience, is a global leader in irrigation technologies and engineering solutions. Under the current partnership, 33 Center Pivot irrigation systems have been installed across a total of 1,569 hectares in Jizzakh and Tashkent regions — 27 projects covering 1,300 hectares in Jizzakh and 6 projects covering 269 hectares in Tashkent.

A major investment project in Bukhara region was highlighted during the discussions. The first phase covers 10,000 hectares in Peshkun, Gijduvan, and Karaulbazar districts, with plans to expand to 100,000 hectares in the future.

The meeting also addressed financing opportunities through the US Export-Import Bank, the adoption of innovative irrigation solutions, and the development of agricultural infrastructure.

Following the talks, the parties agreed to strengthen cooperation further and implement joint investment projects in a phased and coordinated manner.
