Uzbekistan Updates List of Sources and Content Recognized as Promoting Extremism and Terrorism
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has updated the list of sources and content recognized as promoting extremism and terrorism. According to the Supreme Court, the revised list came into effect on 10 January 2026.
The list includes materials that, in the court’s assessment, contain elements of spreading extremist ideas, justifying violence and terrorism, or posing a threat to the country’s constitutional order.
The authorities emphasized that under Uzbek law, the distribution, possession, or promotion of such materials entails administrative or criminal liability.
