Uzbekistan, UK are developing roadmap for reforming economic education
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of Uzbekistan, the Republican Scientific and Methodological Center, the Tashkent State Economic University, the British Council in Uzbekistan and the University of Bath in the UK will hold a series of seminars and consultations to develop roadmap for economic direction of education.

The initiative is directed at studying and integrating advanced national and international practice and describe all the most important processes of the necessary interaction between education, the employer and the labor market.

The first seminar is held from 27 November to 1 December 2017 with the participation of Professor Ian Crawford of the University of Bath.

The participants of the seminar will conduct a comparative analysis of university economic programs in Uzbekistan and the UK, meet with the main employers and graduates of universities and identify the main components of the road map, which will explain the full process of the relationship between the employer and education.

“I am very glad that I got an opportunity to work on the creation of training programs for universities in Uzbekistan. And I am confident that we will be able to establish an effective dialogue between the two countries in this direction, since we have something to learn from each other,” Ian Crawford said.

The next stages of the program will include development of a joint curriculum in the areas of finance, irrigation of agriculture and textile production for further piloting in universities.

Work on the curriculum will include the development of a methodology for modern lecture and practical classes and work practices, creation of interdisciplinary case studies and training for teachers involved in the main program of universities.

Famous British economist and author of a number of well-known publications in the field of economics, Professor Stephen Pavelin will visit Uzbekistan in January 2018 to work on the curriculum. In March 2018, heads of the universities will take part in discussing of the roadmap, work programs and curricula.
