Uzbekistan U-16 draw with Turkmenistan at CAFA tournament

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s U-16 national team played out a 3-3 draw against Turkmenistan in the third round of the CAFA U-17 Championship 2026.

Head coach Ayder Kurbaev fielded a number of players who had not previously featured in the tournament.

Turkmenistan opened the scoring in the 5th minute. Uzbekistan responded in the 36th minute through Doniyor Uktamov, but the opponents regained the lead three minutes later.

Early in the second half, Yakhyobek Nasrulloev scored in the 49th minute to level the match again. Ten minutes later, Turkmenistan went ahead for the third time.

The final score was set in the 88th minute when Sanjabek Aminov equalized, allowing Uzbekistan to secure a point.

After three rounds, Tajikistan lead the standings with nine points, while Uzbekistan are second with seven points.
