Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan to realize large energy projects

This was stated by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev after negotiations in Ashgabat.

With regard to the sustainable energy, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will participate in the implementation of ambitious projects in the region, in particular the project of Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline.

The sides expressed the willingness to enhance cooperation within the framework of the project on supplying electric power from Central Asia to South Asia along Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan route.

The leaders of the two states underlined that the meeting in Ashgabat would offer a qualitatively new incentive to cooperation between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

The Presidents discussed the status of the interstate dialogue and exchanged the views on a number of international issues. Bilateral documents on the Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation in the political, trade and economy, cultural and humanitarian spheres were signed during the meeting.
