Uzbekistan to Set Up Agricultural Payments Agency to Streamline Farm Support
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan will establish a new Agricultural Payments Agency to digitalize and simplify state support mechanisms for the farm sector, the government said on Monday.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on 21 November aimed at overhauling agricultural support. The document calls for halving the time and labor required to deliver assistance through expanded digital processes. It also mandates reducing the number of separate support measures for agribusinesses by 50% by the end of 2028 through consolidation.
The agency, which will operate under the Ministry of Agriculture, will design new support instruments and fully automate the application, review and disbursement process.
Starting Jan. 1, 2026, all support measures outlined in the decree will be administered through the agency. Funding for entrepreneurs will be issued through dedicated settlement accounts (23210), according to officials.
