Uzbekistan to sell surplus official vehicles of government bodies after inventory
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Surplus official vehicles of government agencies and local authorities will be put up for sale. This measure is outlined in the Presidential Decree “On Measures to Ensure a Competitive Environment and Transparency in the System of Public Procurement.”
The inventory of vehicle fleets will be conducted by the Accounts Chamber and the State Financial Control Inspectorate in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The work is scheduled to take three months. The final report on the completed inventory must be submitted by the responsible authorities to the Presidential Administration by 1 June 2026.
The decree also provides for enhanced oversight of vehicle procurement by state customers. Continuous monitoring of official vehicle purchases will be carried out by the Accounts Chamber and the State Financial Control Inspectorate.
The sale of surplus vehicles is intended to reduce unjustified expenditures of budgetary organizations and increase transparency in the use of state resources.
