Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 6 November, in Washington, President Donald Trump and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced Uzbekistan’s intention to invest billions of dollars in the United States and American companies, the U.S. Department of State said.

The governments of Uzbekistan and the United States are working to advance comprehensive economic, security, and humanitarian cooperation in the interests of stability and prosperity for both countries.

President Trump welcomed the signing of multibillion-dollar agreements aimed at strengthening the U.S. industrial base and ensuring reliable supplies of strategically important resources. These agreements demonstrate Uzbekistan’s commitment to investing in the American economy and its participation in historic purchases of U.S.-manufactured passenger aircraft.

The agreements include joint development of mineral deposits, investments of up to $400 million in the United States and Uzbekistan to reinforce supply chains for strategic and rare-earth elements, as well as Uzbekistan’s commitment to acquire small modular reactors from American energy companies.

In addition, contracts were signed for the purchase of 22 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, with a total value of $8.5 billion, contributing to the development of the American aviation industry.

Special attention was given to supporting American farmers and the agricultural sector. Uzbekistan has pledged to import agricultural machinery worth up to $2 billion and purchase up to two million tons of soybeans and 100,000 tons of cotton from the United States over a three-year period.

To strengthen industrial cooperation, Uzbekistan plans to import automotive components worth $5 billion and develop partnerships in connection with the upcoming privatization of UzAuto Motors.

Air Products intends to invest up to $3 billion in the construction of a methanol production plant in Uzbekistan. Both sides also plan to accelerate projects related to methanol-to-olefins production, carbon-chemical industries, and other industrial enterprises.

Uzbekistan announced the introduction of a 30-day visa-free regime for U.S. citizens starting in 2026, creating new economic and business opportunities.

The parties also agreed to expand cooperation in the field of security. The United States welcomed Uzbekistan’s commitment to promoting peace in the region. Law enforcement agencies of both countries will exchange information to counter the activities of international criminal organizations and drug cartels.

Uzbekistan intends to strengthen regional structures supporting the fight against illegal drug trafficking and enhance the protection of its borders using American equipment for law enforcement and defense agencies.
