Uzbekistan to Provide Rehabilitation Services to Victims of Violence Without Official Statements

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Uzbekistan, rehabilitation centers will begin providing assistance to victims of psychological abuse and violence without requiring an official statement, according to the press service of the National Social Protection Agency.

Under the new procedure, centers can offer shelter and comprehensive rehabilitation for up to six months based on a social services agreement, without the need for the victim to submit a formal request.

Previously, since 1 October 2024, 12 primary assistance rooms operated in Bukhara Region for women and their minor children, where they could stay for up to three days to recover physically and mentally.

The updated system significantly expands support opportunities, offering victims a longer period of safe accommodation and comprehensive aid.

Victims can seek help through the hotline 1146, at “Inson” centers, or by calling 102 to contact law enforcement, ensuring prompt access to assistance and consultations. Additionally, center specialists assist in arranging alimony, social benefits, and other legally guaranteed rights, promoting safe and full reintegration into society.
