Uzbekistan to procure 4m tonnes of fruits, vegetables from farmers

The volume of state procurement of fruits and vegetables was set by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan “On measures on improving system of procurement and use of fruits, vegetables, potatoes and melons”.

According to the resolution, some 2.504 million tonnes of vegetables, 954,300 tonnes of fruits, 555,000 tonnes of grapes, 317,500 tonnes of melons and 202,000 tonnes of potatoes will be purchased within the state procurement.

Enterprises of Uzbekovqatholding will receive over 2.21 million tonnes of fruits and vegetables for industrial processing.

Enterprises of Association Uzbekoziqovqatzahira will prepare 360,000 tonnes of fruits and vegetables for winter-spring period for internal consumption.

Foreign trade company Uzagroexport will export 1.47 million tonnes of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan.
