Uzbekistan to Launch Income Declaration Pilot from March 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Starting from 1 March 2026, Uzbekistan will launch a pilot project for submitting annual income declarations in two cities — Navoi and Chirchik. The procedure is established by the presidential decree of December 10 on expanding cashless payments and reducing the shadow economy.

As part of the experiment, declarations will be submitted in a simplified format through the tax authorities’ electronic platform. Calculation of individual expenses will be based on data from government ministries, fiscal receipts, electronic invoices, and other digital sources. If data is incomplete, citizens will be able to add the missing information via a mobile application.

The updated information will not result in additional tax liabilities, and no legal measures will be applied to participants in the experiment. The Tax Committee, together with relevant ministries, is required to submit a draft resolution on implementing the system to the Cabinet of Ministers within two months.

The pilot aims to digitize tax administration and increase transparency in citizens’ financial transactions.
