Uzbekistan to launch high-octane gasoline production by 2023

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to start production of high-octane gasoline based on Navoiazot JSC.

The project with a preliminary cost of US$200 million was included in the “road map” for development of the chemical industry in Uzbekistan.

The project will be implemented with the participation of GS Engineering & Construction Corporation from South Korea.

The plant is expected to produce 104,300 tonnes of gasoline from methanol and 14,400 tonnes of propane-butane mixture per year.

In December 2018, GS Engineering & Construction Corporation, Uzkhimprom and Navoiazot should create a joint venture for the project. The share of the South Korean company in the joint venture will be 51%. The parties will prepare a feasibility study of the project before the end of 2019.

By May 2020, the parties should determine the sources of financing for the project and begin construction of the plant. The enterprise will be commissioned in December 2022.
