Uzbekistan to join ICAO Public Keys Directory

The Government of Uzbekistan issued a resolution “On organizational measures on accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Public Keys Directory of International Civil Aviation Organization” on 7 January 2014.

The decision was adopted to improve trust level of competitive bodies of foreign states to biometric documents of Uzbekistan, simplify procedure of passing passport control by the owners of these documents at international border control points, ensure exchange of electronic certificates, approving validity of national and foreign biometric documents.

According to the resolution, the State Center for Personalization under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan is an authorized body of Uzbekistan on interaction with the ICAO PKD.

The State Center for Personalization was entrusted to carry out necessary procedures to accession of Uzbekistan to the ICAO PKD, direction of certificates of biometric documents of Uzbekistan to the ICAO PKD and receive certificates of biometric documents of foreign states from the ICAO PKD, and direct them to corresponding bodies of Uzbekistan.
