Uzbekistan to introduce three new vaccines

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan is planning to introduce new vaccines to national vaccination calendar in 2014-2016.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov approved a state programme on further strengthening reproductive health of population, protection of health of mothers, children and teenagers in Uzbekistan for 2014-2018.

According to the programme, Uzbekistan is planning to cover 97% of contingent with prophylactic vaccines in line with national vaccination calendar.

Uzbekistan plans to introduce vaccination against rotavirus infection. In 2015, the children will be vaccinated against pneumococcal disease, and in 2016 - against HPV-human papillomavirus.

The Government of Uzbekistan is planning to issue 36.227 billion soums from budget and attract resources of GAVI Alliance and WHO for US$4.5 million.
