The governmental resolution said that Uzbekistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) provided a loan for US$300 million to implementation of the project on 12 November 2015.
The resources were allocated from ordinary capital resources of the ADB for 25 years with five-year grace period. Uzbekenergo and the ADB also signed a project agreement on realization of investment project “Introduction of automated system of control and accounting of consumption of electricity in Andijan, Namangan, Ferghana, Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions (Phase 4)”.
The project will be realized within four years (2016 — 2019). Uzbekenergo is an executive body, which is responsible for targeted and efficient use of the ADB loan.
Uzbekenergo will repay the ADB loan, interest rates and other related expenses, the Uzbek government noted.
