Uzbekistan to install three digital television transmitters

The project with total cost of US$2.5 million was included to the investment programme for 2014. The project will be financed due to own resources.

According to the programme, transmitters of the digital television will be installed in three regions – Surkhandarya, Ferghana and Namangan regions.

Uzbekistan is planning to install five digital television transmitters in four regions (Jizzakh, Tashkent, Ferghana and Khorezm regions) in 2013. This will help to raise coverage of population with the digital television from 42% to 45%.

It is worth to mention that Uzbekistan plans to move to digital television till 2015 to provide quality television programmes.
