Uzbekistan to host information-library week

The week is aimed at strengthening youth aspirations and interest in obtaining information, familiarizing with new literature, raising level of information culture and popularizing reading, increasing use of Internet in providing library services to users.

Within the week, it is planned to hold various seminars, roundtables, presentations, book exhibition and fairs, meetings with writers, musicians, singers, painters, bloggers, and others. It is also planned to hold events for children.

The event will include seminars on conservation and restoration of rare books and manuscripts, presentations of new projects of the National Library, as well as holding regular thematic tours to the library for specialists of libraries and archive institutions of Uzbekistan.

The Second National Information Library Week INFOLIB-2013 will be held at the National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi.
