Uzbekistan to hold trainings for teachers on inclusive education

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Social Initiatives Support Fund (SISF) in cooperation with Ministry of Public Education, Center for secondary special professional education under the Ministry of Higher And Secondary Education will hold regional trainings “Methodology of organization of inclusive education”.

The trainings will be organized for pilot schools, kindergartens, lyceums and colleges. The trainings will be conducted in Navoi, Samarkand, Andijan and Tashkent cities. The events are organized within the project “Inclusive education in Uzbekistan” of the SISF.

The trainings are directed at stimulating positive attitudes towards people with disabilities, which will help to their participation in inclusive education, programmes and events, etc. It is expected that 120 teachers will undergo trainings.

This year new kindergartens and schools from Karakalpakstan Republic, Andijan region, Bukhara region, Namangan region and Samarkand region joined the project “Inclusive education in Uzbekistan”. Currently, number of pilot projects reached 64, of which 22 are kindergartens, 30 schools, six lyceums and six colleges.

The SISF has been implementing the project “Inclusive education in Uzbekistan” since 2007. It unites kindergartens and educational establishments of various regions, where over 1,000 children with disabilities are studying.
