During the talks, he reached agreements on expanding cooperation in joint training of personnel, the opening of campuses and branches of such universities as the Ajou University, Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH).
Currently, Uzbek universities support cooperation with more than 45 universities and scientific organizations of the Republic of Korea. This cooperation envisages the development of ties in various fields of educational and scientific activity, the exchange of faculty, students, and interaction in the organization of joint conferences and scientific research.
Only in the first half of 2017, within the framework of direct interuniversity cooperation, more than 70 people from Uzbekistan’s higher education institutions participated in conferences and symposiums at the universities of the Republic of Korea.
During the same period, the universities of Uzbekistan held meetings with more than 30 representatives of Korean universities.
In addition, more than 50 university students from Uzbekistan were sent for internships or continue their education in master and doctoral degree programmes of Korean universities.
