Uzbekistan to Establish Unified Registry of Mahalla Citizens’ Meetings
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan will create a Unified Registry of citizens’ meetings (soghs) held in mahallas.
The government resolution (No. 586 dated 15 September 2025) approves the Regulation on the procedure for forming and maintaining the registry.
The new registry will serve as a centralized source of information on mahalla gatherings, facilitating interagency electronic interaction with government bodies and other organizations. Its formation will be managed by the Association of Mahallas of Uzbekistan, based on decisions of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the councils of people’s deputies of regions and Tashkent city.
The registry will be maintained in the “Digital Mahalla” information system. It will include details such as the full and short name of the mahalla, its code, taxpayer identification number, date and number of the corresponding council decision, the district where the mahalla is located, and geodata of its territorial boundaries.
Data from the Unified Registry will be accessible via the mahalla code or taxpayer ID. The registry aims to increase transparency of local communities’ work and simplify access for state authorities to up-to-date information on citizens’ meetings.
