Uzbekistan to create system for collection of recordings from DVRs

A centralized system for operative collection of video recordings from DVRs installed on motor vehicles of individuals and legal entities will be established in Uzbekistan, on the facts of committed offenses.
The Government of Uzbekistan issued a resolution "On measures to further improve the system of ensuring road safety in the Republic of Uzbekistan".
It is also planned to create a system of monitoring of video recordings, received from DVRs. Then the video will be sent to the internal affairs bodies for taking necessary actions.
It is planned to take measures to localize the production of DVRs. Uzbekistan plans to introduce mandatory procedures for installing video recorders for public transport and vehicles carrying passengers.
The government instructed to develop mechanisms to encourage citizens, who provide video to the system, if the offense is confirmed by a court in the established manner, and to ensure their anonymity.
