Uzbekistan to Create Preferential Conditions for Returning Labor Migrants from Russia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The authorities of Uzbekistan are prepared to establish preferential conditions for citizens returning home after labor migration in Russia, Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Alexey Yerkhov stated. According to him, these measures will help reduce the risk of returning migrants engaging in unlawful activities.
Speaking on the “Russia 24” TV channel, the diplomat noted that such measures are included in Russia’s new migration framework, which is based on the organized recruitment of specialists: foreign nationals are sent to Russia for specific jobs with designated employers under pre-agreed terms.
“Upon completing their work obligations, individuals return to Uzbekistan, and this is welcomed by the Uzbek authorities, who provide them with special preferential conditions. This system helps prevent migrants from moving into so-called gray or black zones, where they could become involved in illegal activities,” the ambassador emphasized.
