Uzbekistan to Celebrate Eid al-Fitr on 20 March

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The first day of Eid al-Fitr in Uzbekistan this year falls on Friday, March 20, according to a decree by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev based on information from the country’s Muslim Board.

Local hokimiyats and community representatives will organize events to support low-income families, assist the elderly and people with disabilities, and hold iftars and charitable campaigns.

Special attention will be paid to preserving national traditions and creating a festive atmosphere rooted in peace, friendship, and unity.

The Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, regional administrations, and Tashkent city authorities, together with the Committee for Religious Affairs, the Mahalla Association, the National Agency for Social Protection, and other partners, will ensure the implementation of cultural and educational events aimed at promoting kindness and generosity among citizens.

The Tourism Committee and Ministry of Transport will facilitate visits to sacred and historical sites during the holiday period.
