Uzbekistan to Build and Reconstruct 45,200 km of Roads by 2030

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the updated Uzbekistan–2030 Strategy, submitted for public discussion on the System for Assessing the Impact of Legislative Acts (SOVAZ) platform, the country plans a comprehensive development of its road infrastructure for 2026–2030.

The main objectives of the strategy are to expand the road network, implement toll roads, and increase the volume of transport services.

In total, by 2030, Uzbekistan plans to construct, reconstruct, and carry out major repairs on 45,200 kilometers of roads, while increasing the volume of transport services to 301 trillion soums.

The length of new and modernized roads will increase annually. In 2026, 8,600 kilometers of roadworks are planned, rising to 8,800 kilometers in 2027, 9,000 kilometers in 2028, 9,300 kilometers in 2029, and reaching 9,500 kilometers by 2030.

A priority in developing the road network will be the introduction of toll sections on strategically important routes. No new toll roads are planned for 2026. In 2027, 50 kilometers of toll roads are expected to open, increasing to 75 kilometers in 2028, 100 kilometers in 2029, and reaching a total of 130 kilometers by 2030, including key routes such as Tashkent–Samarkand and Tashkent–Ferghana Valley.

The volume of transport services is projected to grow steadily, reaching 205 trillion soums in 2026, 227.9 trillion soums in 2027, 252.7 trillion soums in 2028, 284.5 trillion soums in 2029, and 301 trillion soums by 2030.
