Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A resolution of the President “On measures for the protection, cultivation, processing of wild medicinal plants and the rational use of available resources” was adopted.
In accordance with the resolution, from 1 May 2020, clusters are created for growing, storing, primary or deep processing of medicinal plants, as well as regions specializing in growing medicinal plants
Land areas are allocated to clusters of medicinal plants on the basis of an agreement concluded between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, khokimiyats of regions and initiators.
Land areas for medicinal plants clusters created with the participation of foreign investors are allocated by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic after signing an agreement on making investments.
The initiator of the cluster creation is the following documents:
- statement;
- a business plan or a feasibility study;
- A certificate of the availability of necessary infrastructure, property and other facilities.
The resolution defines the main tasks of the cluster of medicinal plants.
The cultivation of medicinal plants, the procurement of seeds and seedlings, the phased construction of modern plantations of medicinal plants in specialized regions is one of the main tasks of these clusters.
Raw materials, equipment and special equipment for the construction of cultural plantations, as well as vending machines for phytobars that are not produced in Uzbekistan, imported by clusters of medicinal plants, manufacturers and processors of medicinal plants according to the list approved in the established order until 1 January 2023 are exempted from customs duties .
