Uzbekistan to Allocate 4 Trillion Soums to Stimulate Small and Medium-Sized Business Development
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree “On Measures to Support Business Entities Based on New Approaches.”
The document aims to stimulate entrepreneurial activity and implement 5,000 business projects in 2026–2027 by providing financial support totaling 4 trillion soums through the Joint-Stock Company “Entrepreneurship Development Company.”
Starting from 1 November 2025, the company will introduce additional support tools for entrepreneurs.
Specifically, resources will be allocated to provide loans of up to 10 billion soums through commercial banks for production and service projects aimed at promoting entrepreneurs to the “champion” category.
Additionally, loans of up to 500 million soums issued by commercial banks for micro-projects of small business entities in production, services, and the “green” economy will be refinanced. The interest rate on such loans will be reduced to 6%, but not less than 4 percentage points above the Central Bank’s key rate.
A condition for receiving support is the creation of at least five new jobs for entrepreneurs who have been operating for at least one year and employ a minimum of two staff members.
The implementation of these measures is intended to strengthen financial support for entrepreneurs, stimulate employment, and increase the number of competitive business projects in the country.
