Uzbekistan to acquire two more high-speed trains Talgo
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan will acquire two high-speed passenger electric trains Talgo 250 and four cars.
The government of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution “On measures to implement the project “Acquisition of two high-speed passenger electric trains Talgo-250 and four economy-class cars”.
According to the document, Uzbekiston Temir Yollari, as a result of direct negotiations, signed a contract with Patentes Talgo S.L.U.
As part of the agreement, the company buys two high-speed passenger electric trains Talgo 250, four economy class cars, spare parts and equipment for service, totaling 57.5 million euros.
Uzbekiston Temir Yollari developed a feasibility study of the project “Acquisition of two high-speed passenger electric trains Talgo-250 and four economy-class cars” with a total cost of 72.93 million euros.
The Government of Spain has approved the granting to the Republic of Uzbekistan due to resources of the Fund for the corporate internationalization of Spanish companies (FIEM) for a total of 57.5 million euros.
The loan is granted for 30 years with a grace period of 10 years at a rate of 0.05% per annum, as well as payment of the commitment fee - 0.1 percent of the amount not withdrawn and the organization fee - 0.1 percent.
The document notes that the project will be implemented in 2019-2021.
The FIEM loan is granted to the Republic of Uzbekistan on the basis of a loan agreement between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the official credit institution “Instituto de Credito Oficial, E.P.E.” (hereinafter referred to as the official credit institute of the Government of Spain), which is the financial agent of the Government of Spain on the loan provided under the project
The contribution of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the implementation of the project is equivalent to 15.43 million euros, including 14.37 million euros in the form of tax and customs benefits, as well as through own funds of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari in the equivalent of 1,06 million euros.
