Uzbekistan tightens norms of duty-free import of goods across the border
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan introduced changes to quantitative norms on import of some goods by individuals through road (pedestrian), railway and river checkpoints of Uzbekistan.
According to the decree, from 17 October 2018, the norms of duty-free importation by individuals of 21 types of goods across the country’s borders is becoming tougher.
Previously, individuals could once a month without paying customs duties to deliver one unit of household and computer equipment and one set of tableware.
Citizens could also import other goods (no more than 2 kg of each item, but no more than 10 kg of total weight) across the border once a day.
Now, according to the changes, through road (pedestrian) railway and river checkpoints it will be possible to import equipment and tableware without paying a duty once every 6 months, and other goods once a month.
