Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Starting from 30 December, Uzbekistan has temporarily suspended sales of all types of medicines of the Indian company Marion Biotech registered in the country. This was stated by the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan.
Due to the fact that additional foreign substances were found in the composition of the drug "Doc-1 Max" manufactured by Marion Biotech, other drugs of this company are currently undergoing thorough laboratory tests, the agency noted.
Earlier, the Ministry of Health announced that ethylene glycol was found in a batch of Doc-1 Max.
It should be noted that 19 children under the age of 6 died after using the drug "Doc-1 Max". Law enforcement agencies opened a criminal case. Officials of the importing company Quramax Medical and the Scientific Center for Standardization of Medicines were detained under Article 186-3 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan.
In India, a case was opened against the pharmaceutical company Marion Biotech in connection with the death of children in Uzbekistan after taking Doc-1 Max syrup.
Marion Biotech announced that the company has suspended production of Doc-1 Max syrup.
